Penn State was involved in a number of legal cases in 2024, two of which involve current members of the board of trustees.

Those cases, involving lawsuits brought by trustees Anthony Lubrano and Barry Fenchak, are still ongoing, though a Centre County judge blocked the board from removing Fenchak.

Other cases, including the class-action lawsuit brought by students and parents who sought refunds during the COVID-era, concluded with multi-million settlements.

There was also a significant settlement regarding gender pay disparities and another involving claims of long-term sexual harassment by a former coach.
