Devices such as Shibumi Shades are permitted only until Memorial Day; post that, the city enforces a strict “umbrella-only” rule through Labor Day to ensure safety and access visibility.

Canopies and tents, including popular blue cabanas, are available for rentals but must adhere to size restrictions. Myrtle Beach has implemented these rules in conjunction with rental franchises like Lack’s Beach Service to manage beach operations and safety better. These measures ensure a hassle-free and enjoyable experience for all beachgoers.
